12/17 Due to no enough space in mService, Lance description the visit findings was not input. Lance sent and Agient FSG group.



System 54 (US2530MA05). This is the system that had the bad U+/- values I mentioned previously. We went through a “Measuring ion source connections” job aid that I had (I think Paul sent it out some time ago). All was okay except seeing very high resistance between the quad bridges and quad radiator (~3 mega-ohm). Job aid said this should be open. We also checked the side boards per the service notes I listed below. All said they were revision C.05 (service note D0133660) but we checked the resistance values anyway (per service note D0132885). Three of the four were okay, but one read approx. 3 mega-ohm (should have been ~400 kilo-ohm).


System 51 (US2632MA27): We went through the ion source connections job aid here also and everything checked out the same as system 54. Again we saw very high resistance between the quad bridges and quad radiator, but it was lower than the other one (1.2 mega-ohm and 350 kilo-ohm). We checked the side board per the referenced service notes and it checked out okay.


We also vented one of the good systems and checked the resistance between the quad bridges and quad radiator – it was similar to what we saw on system 51.


Between yesterday and today, we tried both problem analyzers with a side board from one of the new, known good systems they had here also. Neither one showed any change, so it appears the problem is inside the analyzer chamber. Moving the analyzers to different chassis showed that the electronic modules are functioning properly.


I think new analyzer assemblies are necessary for these two systems.


11/12 Travel to site to recovered parts and ship them back to Agilent. MD

11/12/2025 I went onsite to retrieve the parts that were backordered 10/07/2025 Lance and I were onsite to do extra test, FSG agreed to open DEFOA for analyzer replacement. System 54 (US2530MA05). I think new analyzer assemblies are necessary for these two systems 01/07/2025 Per fsg analyzer working MS was switched to the #51 and #54 and tune without issues, since side boards are backorder, Lance will be on 01/08 to do more tests trying to find if the whole analyzer has to be replaced. 01/06/2025 Checking voltages comparing with a working MS some of them were OK some not. Would check with fsg support. 10/01/2025 Troubleshooting between 2 instruments and still not tuning, Sideboard in backorder and GCMS group and Lance Nelson (Agilent FSE) has been contacted. Got some recommendations for next visit. .
