🔧Work Performed
On the 6390, I removed the side cover and made access to the patient right locking mechanism. I then removed the damaged actuator cam and installed a new actuator cam. I adjust the locking mechanism and made sure it was hitting the limit switch. I put the covers back on the Powerload. I then put the cot in the Powerload and I was able to power release the cot from the unit. I then put the cot back in the Powerload and I was able to manually release the cot from the left and right release handles. I then function tested the unit and all passed. I returned the Powerload to service.
🔍Technician Findings
On the 6390, I arrived and found that the cot was releasing from the Powerload under little pressure. I then put weight on the cot and the Powerload would not release the cot on the patient right side. I pulled the cover of the right and side and found that the Actuator cam was cracked and was not allowing the cot to release and was also not allowing the locking mechanism to touch the limit switch to activate the raising of the cot with the Powerload.
