🔧Work Performed
1/15
Completed preventive maintenance service on Midmark M11-020 autoclave (SN: V1100597) using PM kit from trunk stock. Ran a full test cycle and confirmed proper operation. The unit completed the cycle successfully with no issues observed.
Performed troubleshooting on Midmark M11-043 autoclave (SN: V2552112) due to the unit not completing a cycle. Confirmed the unit starts the cycle displaying a temperature of approximately 240°F and then fails. Checked resistance on the temperature sensor and found it slightly out of range at room temperature. Acceptable range is 1.07 to 1.10 kΩ and the measured value was 1.2 kΩ. Verified voltage at the control board for the temperature sensor and found it to be within specification. Contacted Midmark technical support and they recommended replacing the temperature sensor. They advised the issue could also be related to the control board, but recommended replacing the temperature sensor first. Spoke to Julio Gomez here at SPCA in regards to the needed part and he approved the purchase of a replacement sensor.
1/28
Replaced the temperature sensor and ran a test cycle, temperature now reads above 240°F but chamber pressure remains at 0 PSI. The unit reached approximately 270°F and vented steam, however PSI never increased above 0. Contacted Midmark technical support and was advised to confirm voltage to the pressure transducer from the main PC board, measured approximately 5 VDC which is within the specified range of 4 to 6 VDC. Also confirmed the transducer hose is sloped downward as advised. Ran another test cycle with the same result of temperature above 240°F and 0 PSI. Removed and cleaned the air valve and vent valve, and removed and cleaned the hose connected to the pressure transducer. Ran an additional test cycle with no change. Even when pinching the transducer hose during operation, the pressure remained at 0 PSI. Based on troubleshooting performed, the pressure transducer is suspected to be faulty. Since the transducer is soldered to the main PC board, the board will likely require replacement. Midmark technical support was closed after troubleshooting was completed and could not be reached for confirmation at that time, I will contact Midmark technical support tomorrow to confirm whether the issue is with the main PC board.
2/19
Replaced and configured the main control PC board. Ran a test cycle and verified the autoclave is now detecting and displaying PSI on the screen. The unit successfully completed a test sterilization cycle.
