🔧Work Performed

Per Midmark technical support, I was advised to run a test cycle and monitor the unit for abnormalities or errors. The unit completed the initial test cycle without errors, however steam was observed leaking from the door. I discussed replacing the door gasket and running an additional test cycle with the customer and they approved. During the second test cycle, the unit generated error codes C983 and C980, indicating the high-limit thermostat remained open longer than expected. During a third test cycle, the unit generated error code C544, indicating sterilization steam temperature was too high. Midmark technical support was closed at the time, and a return visit will be required to continue troubleshooting.

Removed and cleaned the air valve. Unable to remove the vent valve for cleaning due to lack of a pin spanner wrench. During a test cycle, temperature reached 284°F and pressure reached 19 PSI before failing again with error C544. Water was observed leaking between the vent valve and the manifold block. A second test cycle confirmed the vent valve/manifold leak as the cause of the pressure loss and C544 error. Per the observed water leak, Midmark technical support recommended replacement of the fill/vent valve assembly and the fill tube. Unit has an old-style fill/vent valve assembly that will require replacement with the new-style assembly. The cooling fan runs continuously, indicating a failed fan control thermostat per Midmark technical support. Approval to purchase parts was confirmed with site manager Kaylen Grutman. Midmark will ship parts directly to the customer.

Replaced all parts shipped, which consisted of the Fill/Vent Valve Assembly, Fan Control Thermostat, and Fill Tube. Encountered minor difficulty aligning the fill tube to the elbow at the bottom of the chamber, but the connection was successfully secured. Ran a test sterilization cycle which completed successfully without errors. Verified there are no visible leaks from the newly installed components.
